What we’re about
We are a group of creative people who enjoy sketching the world around us. We meet in public places, such as parks, city landmarks and museums, where we sketch with whatever media each person prefers (ink, colored pencils, watercolors, iPad, etc.). By voluntarily sharing our work we learn from each other and get new perspective and inspiration.
We have members who range from beginner to expert, so don’t be shy about joining us, whatever your skill level and style are. We meet every first Sunday of the month, a different place every time. Often there are also urban sketching events in between, such as court drawing or after work sketching events.

Einst lärmten in den Hallen des Koch‑Areals schwere Maschinen; später wurde das Gelände zum Symbol der Zürcher Zwischennutzungs‑ und Kulturbewegung. Heute ist es als öffentlicher Park neu belebt – mit offenen Rasenflächen, Graffiti‑Fragmenten und einem markanten grossen Dach, das uns bei Sonne wie Regen Schutz bietet. Treffpunkt: Unter dem grossen Dach vom Eingang Rautistrasse her. Von dort erkunden wir die Mischung aus Industrie‑Relikten und frischem Grün auf Motivsuche.
Bitte bringt euer eigenes Zeichenmaterial und möglichst einen kleinen Klapphocker mit. Ihr braucht keine Vorkenntnisse. Wir skizzieren etwa 2 Stunden, allein oder in kleinen Gruppen, ganz entspannt. Anschliessend treffen wir uns wieder, zeigen unsere Werke und machen das obligatorische Gruppenfoto. Heavy machinery once clattered through the halls of the Koch site; later, the area became a symbol of Zurich's temporary use and cultural movement. Today, it has been revitalised as a public park – with open lawns, graffiti fragments and a striking large roof that offers us protection from both sun and rain. Meeting point: Under the large roof at the Rautistrasse entrance. From there, we will explore the mix of industrial relics and fresh greenery in search of motifs.
Please bring your own drawing materials and, ideally, a small folding stool. No prior experience required. We’ll sketch for about 2 hours, then regroup to share results and take the group photo, following the Urban Sketchers values: https://urbansketchers.org/de/who-we-are/#mission/
