What we’re about
## Who Are We
We are an active social club where members have a variety of activities, events, and trips to choose from.
The Urban Diversion team consists of staff and hosts dedicated to creating a community where people can come together in a fun, adventurous, and respectful environment of like-minded people. The UD team doesn't just organize and plan events - we participate and have fun right alongside you, so it always feels like a group of friends and friends of friends!
We welcome members of all ages and have members aged 20-50+ though the majority of our members are young professionals.
## Our Mission
"To inspire lifelong connections and community through unforgettable experiences and adventures."
## Why a Membership?
We operate on a membership model to cultivate a close-knit community of friends, ensuring you'll consistently see familiar faces at every event. Prior to forming UD, we attended several meetups but found many to be fairly transient. This led us to meet many people but not form deep friendships. Urban Diversion was formed with the intent to building lasting relationships. Many of our members have been attending events for years.
Membership involves a monthly fee that sustains our vibrant community and facilitates the formation of genuine, enduring friendships.
To become part of our community on MeetUp, please start by becoming a member at http://www.urbandiversion.com.
## Our Events
From waterfall hikes to sushi & sake classes; bungee jumping or a wild NYE party; backpacking Tahoe to wine tasting or even International travel... Urban Diversion has something for everyone.

That means it's CHERRY SEASON!
Did you know that we have beautiful cherry orchards just a little over an hour away from SF?!?!
Event Details:
Come spend a half day with us at a family-owned farm just over an hour from San Francisco. This farm has been family run for over 150 years! We'll get to walk through a cherry orchard and pick our own cherries to take home. The best part - pay only for what you pick. You'll NEVER find produce this fresh in any grocery store, plus you get to learn more about the foods we eat.
Once we've finished harvesting and worked up an appetite, we'll lay out and enjoy the fruits of our labor with a delicious picnic among the trees in the orchard. Lunch will be lovingly prepared by your host, so please mention any allergies or dietary restrictions in the comment box when you register.
But wait, there's more! With a little bit of luck and if mother nature is on our side, we might be able to pick fresh peaches in another orchard near by. Also, you've probably seen it on a restaurant menu, the famous Brentwood Corn. Brentwood Corn is known across the country and sets the bar for flavor and sweetness. We'll hit up the local farm shop where you can get some corn and lots of other produce to bring home.Have any favorite recipes using fresh cherries? (Using our Bubba Gump impression) "There's cherry pie, cherry cobbler, cherry cheesecake, cherries jubilee, frozen cherries, candied cherries, cherry ice cream, cherry jam, cherry vodka... that... that's about it."
What to expect:
- Spend a half day in the country air surrounded by orchards and beautiful farmland
- Picking cherries is easy, you don't even need to climb a ladder!
- Harvest as many cherries as you want, and pay for what you pick on the way out
- And don't worry, no one is going to see that you've ate a ton of cherries which is clearly evident by your purple stained tongue
- Enjoy a special picnic lunch provided by your host
- Promise we won't make you eat just cherries!
- Let your host know any allergies or dietary restrictions when you register or via the host phone - we always do our best to accommodate requests
- Explore the local farm store that has tons of fresh local produce and baked goods
What event includes:
- Experienced host to guide you through your u-pick adventure
- Buckets to put your harvest in :)
- Special picnic lunch provided by your Urban Diversion host
- The best company of Urban Diversion friends
What to bring:
- If you want that super cute picture for the "gram" then we recommend bringing a cute basket for your cherries (this is not required as buckets will be provided)
- Sunglasses, sun hat, and sunscreen
- Water
- Day bag for water and personal items
- A camera to capture all the Kodak Moments
- $$ for your cherries and any extra goodies you might pick up at the farm stand
