Details
This hike is located in the area between Spring Mountain Ranch and the town of Blue Diamond. This is an easy hike with gradual elevation and normal dirt trails. It is the perfect hike for those who have been nervous about hiking with a group. For the regular Sunday hikers, the views will not disappoint and you will get your exercise.
Shattered Glass Trail and Landmine Loop: This is a scenic hike of about 3.3 miles. We will start our hike from the Wheeler Camp parking lot, heading toward Bonnie Springs then loop behind the ridge, heading toward Blue Diamond then circling back to the parking lot.
Terrain & Scenery: This is a typical hiking trail with gradual inclines. The name "Shattered Glass" comes from the shattered glass in parts of loop. The glass is not on the trail. This trail is also used by mountain bikers.
The scenery includes beautiful views of red rock and the Bonnie Springs area. Photo ops include an old abandoned car along the route, rocks and mountains in the backdrop. This is an open desert with no shade.
Trail Type: Loop
Parking: There is a parking lot.
Directions: We will meet at the Wheeler Camp Spring parking lot.
This is a group hike and will be at a slower pace. We will keep the group together so that we can socialize, take plenty of pictures, and enjoy the scenery.
