Join us for a beautiful spring hike through Pine Creek, where blooming wildflowers and cacti bring the desert to life. The route begins as an easy desert walk, then turns more adventurous near Mescalito Peak as we branch toward Fern Canyon, navigating Class 2–3 scrambling. Along the way, we’re rewarded with shade, flowing water, and rare ferns hidden in this unique desert oasis.

⚠️ STRENUOUS | Hiking + Some Class 2-3 Scrambling | ~4.9mi | ~600ft elevation
AllTrails Route Information Here (we will go 1mi further)

📸 WHAT TO EXPECT
A challenging hike at a RELAXED pace, stopping for frequent breaks and photos. As a photographer, I will coordinate some group photos (including with an Insta360).

💥 WHAT IS SCRAMBLING?
Scrambling sits between hiking and climbing, involving hands-on movement over rocky terrain.

  • Class 2 Scrambling - Steep hiking with some hand use for balance; minimal risk.
  • Class 3 Scrambling - Hands-on climbing with route choice; a fall could cause serious injury.

🚗 WHERE TO MEET
Due to limited parking at trailhead and reservation fees for Red Rock Scenic Loop, we will meet first at the Albertsons Parking Lot @11720 W Charleston Blvd (meet near the back of the lot by the Chevron).

If you are able to be a driver, please make a Red Rock reservation for 8am*.* The Reservation Fee is $2. Entrance to Red Rock Scenic Loop is also $20 per vehicle, but that is waived with the America the Beautiful Annual Pass ($80) or the Red Rock Annual Pass ($50).

I have room for 3 passengers and will take the first 3 to join that respond "CARPOOLING".

WHAT TO BRING

  • 🥾 Proper hiking shoes (good grip for scrambling)
  • 💧 2–3 liters of water
  • 🍎 Snacks
  • 🧢 Dress for the weather
  • 🧤 Gloves (recommended for scrambling)

If you have any questions at all, feel free to reach out.
Let’s go make some memories! 🏜️🔥
