This hike combines sections of 3 different trails for a hike through the calico basin area.

Calico Basin/Girl Scout/Ash Springs - 3 Trails in 1: This is a fun and scenic hike of about 3 miles. The trailhead starts at the Calico Basin / Red Springs parking lot. We will begin our hike along the bottom of the Calico Sandstone Hills where we can climb on some of the rocks and pose for some great pics. From there we will merge with the Girl Scout Trail and eventually drop down into a meadow. We will follow the Ash Springs Trail into the wash until we decide to turn back.

Terrain & Scenery: This trail has the usual dirt and rocks, but we will also hike on large sandstone rocks, some woodsy trails and a wash.

Trail Type: Loop

Parking: Parking is at the Calico Basin / Red Springs parking lot. This is a popular area, so give yourself time to find a spot. If the parking lot is full, there is parking on the shoulder near the entrance.

Directions: If you put "Red Springs Parking" or "Red Springs Picnic Area" in your navi, you will find us. I will be waiting by the picnic tables.

This is a group hike and will be at a slower pace to accommodate beginner hikers and hikers with broken wrists. We will keep the group together so that we can socialize, take plenty of pictures, and enjoy the scenery.

*Guests must be 21. No fur babies.
