What we’re about
The U.S. Chess Center promotes self-confidence, social skills, and academic success for all. Since 1992, we have taught chess to nearly 40,000 students and at over 150 schools across the National Capital Region.
We created this Meetup to promote chess events, especially for adults, across the Washington Metropolitan Area. If you enjoy playing chess or want to learn, then this group may be for you.

We'll have plenty of chess sets (no need to bring your own), as well as some clocks for those that want to play blitz or rapid chess, and your host will be an experienced U.S. Chess Center chess instructor.

Join us at the Chess Center offices (Suite 118, entrance on 2nd Avenue) on Saturday afternoons from 1:00 – 5:00pm ET for open play. Players of all abilities and ages are welcome.
- Non-Members: $5.00/player table fee for the day.
- Chess Center Members always play for FREE ($0.00).
