Responsible AI in Practice: A Conversation with Lisa Thee and Shubham Atreja, PhD

As AI moves from experimentation into everyday decisions, the hardest questions are no longer only technical. Who is accountable when an AI system gets it wrong? How do we balance privacy, safety, and innovation? And what does it take to turn responsible AI principles into practice?

Join the USF Data Institute for a conversation between Lisa Thee, AI executive, founder, and Head of the International AI Safety Commission at the Global Council for Responsible AI, and Shubham Atreja, Assistant Professor of Data Science and AI at the University of San Francisco. Drawing on Lisa's experience building and governing AI across industry, government, and nonprofit settings, and Shubham's research on how computing technologies shape human behavior and society, they will explore where responsible AI is working, where it falls short, and what leaders, practitioners, and students can do about it.
The conversation will be followed by audience Q&A.
