Introduction of the speaker:
Uday Marepalli currently works as a Senior Product Manager at Upwork, the world’s work marketplace which connects businesses of all sizes and independent talent from around the globe. Prior to joining Upwork in 2021, he spent time building products at marketplaces such as Glassdoor & SmartAsset. Before starting his product career, Uday worked in venture capital and corporate strategy at high-growth AI startups.
Uday holds a master’s in Management Science from Columbia University, New York. In his spare time, he enjoys reading and writing blogs. His work has been featured in publications such as Tech in Asia, Hackernoon & Inc42.

Abstract:
The technology industry is now buzzing with breakthroughs in AI and companies are investing in incorporating the latest AI/ML innovations in their products. The speaker will provide a behind-the-scenes view into how machine learning products are conceptualized and launched by drawing a few examples from talent marketplaces. The talk will also touch upon best practices for collaboration among data science and product management teams.
