Details
Join us for a day of hacking and braining!
Ushahidi is a non-profit tech company that develops free and open source software for information collection, visualization and interactive mapping. Some of our core user groups are: media, non-governmental and governmental organizations, non-profits, academics, students, techs/developers and more.
We will focus on three topics:
- Media hacking: Frame planning & prototyping for the Verifying Sources challenge for the Media, Freedom and Web event (Mozilla- https://donate.mozilla.org/page/signup/fest... (https://donate.mozilla.org/page/signup/festival-save-the-date))
Heather Ford, Ushahidi Web Ethnographer, will lead a discussion and hacking.
- Core hacking: Ushahidi hacking to help our Community (some ideas):
*Filtering reports by polygon
*Using the custom forms on mobile phones
*API Auth
*Review some plugin requests
*Play with the Ushahidi Firefox extension
Emmanuel Kala, Ushahidi Developer, will lead hackers through core Ushahidi use and work on hacks
- City Hacking: The City of San Francisco is interested in testing Ushahidi as a capacity and community prototype.
