Go Figure: A Tour of the math Package - Clark Brown
Details
Speaker: Clark Brown
Description:
Remember sitting in a classroom wondering, “When am I ever going to use this?” The answer might just be in your next Go project. While many reach for `math.Max` or `math.Abs` and stop there, the Go standard library offers a powerhouse of functionality that bridges the gap between academic theory and practical application. In this talk, we will head back to the basics—and beyond—to tour the deterministic side of Go’s math library (leaving `math/rand` for another time). We will explore how to generate audio using wave functions, handle arbitrary precision arithmetic with `math/big`, optimize low-level operations using `math/bits`, and more.
