Ride: West Davis Highway Loop

Details
This 22-mile ride showcases UDOT’s paved bike path paralleling the new West Davis Highway. Our itinerary is to begin at the trailhead in Farmington and spin northwest on the West Davis Highway, then east on Gentile Street, and then south on the Denver & Rio Grande Western Rail Trail completing the loop. The terrain is flat to gently rolling with all but about 3-miles on separated paved bike paths, out of traffic. The tree lined stretch of the D & RGW Rail Trail is scenic and a welcome relief on warm summer days. Pace is individual choice. Plan on regrouping in Layton at approximately the 14-mile point. Meet Elliott at the Farmington trailhead at 9:00AM ready to ride.
Please ensure your bike is correctly adjusted and safe to operate. Everyone needs to bring basic tire repair tools and wear a helmet. No earbuds.
Trailhead Information. In Farmington drive Grover’s Lane west of Farmington High School to 725 West (aka Sheep Lane) and turn south. The trailhead is at the end of this dead-end street. There are no restrooms at this location.
