This short ride is an out-and-back spin-up scenic City Creek Canyon. The upper canyon has been closed over the past year as Salt Lake City Public Utilities works to upgrade and improve its municipal water supply – so we will ride as far up canyon as possible -- and then turn around. If we can only ascent to the filtration plant (which is expected), plan on a climb of 625-feet over 4.5-miles (9-miles RT) with some short steep pitches along the way. This ride has no mandatory pace and riders are welcome to ascend as far as their schedules permit. This is a road ride on paved surfaces and all bikes are welcome. Please ensure your bike is correctly adjusted and safe to operate. Everyone needs to bring basic tire repair tools and wear a helmet. No earbuds. Meet Elliott in the upper parking lot located behind the Utah state capitol building at approximately 490 North East Capitol Boulevard, at 10:00AM ready to ride.
