"Affirmation of the Unknown"
Service led by Prof. John Izzi
In his capacity as philosopher, Prof John Izzi will talk about the difference between faith and belief, the affirmation of the unknown, and the power that animates the world.About our guest speaker this month:
A native of Connecticut, John Izzi received the BA in philosophy from Fordham University and the license ès lettres, the maîtrise, and the doctorat in philosophy at l’Université de Paris-Sorbonne. He is Professor Emeritus of Philosophy at Saint Michael’s College, Colchester, Vermont. Since receiving his doctorat, John spent five months in Paris every year until he moved back full-time again in 2022. This year he has led several workshops for UUFP on philosophers from diverse philosophical/mystical traditions.Children and families are welcome at our services! UUFP offers Religious Exploration (RE) for children ages 5-12. It is based on our new curriculum, LEGO ValUUes. There is a babysitter for younger ones during the service.
All are welcome to join us for refreshments after the service (please bring your own cup). You are also invited to join some of us who go for lunch in a nearby restaurant.
