What we’re about
UU Humanist Forums are a great opportunity for intellectual exploration and discussion of humanistic topics. Forums are usually held the second Wednesday of every month at 7:00 PM in the Unitarian Universalist Church of Winnipeg (603 Wellington Crescent), except for summer. Our varied forums will generally include a presenter and then breakout discussion groups and/or Q&A afterwards, with an accompaniment of snacks mid-way through.
Past forums have touched on ethics, science, questions of how one knows, the history of humanism, and societal issues.
These forums are meant to provide a venue for thoughtful, respectful, and open-ended discussions and seek to run in accordance with the fourth principle of the Canadian Unitarian Council: A free and responsible search for truth and meaning. People of all philosophical perspectives and worldviews are welcome.
UU Humanist Forums hope to contribute to the reinvigoration of the humanist tradition, both within Unitarian Universalism and more broadly.
