UX for Change is celebrating 8 years of designing for good and supporting social change on International Womens Day by running a remote panel discussion on the 8th of March.
This discussion will be led by 6 experienced voices from across the UK and USA sharing their experiences of advocating for inclusive and compassionate design, understanding the governance and requirements and finding ways to approach inclusive conversations.
Our panel will be led by Sunil Pithwa a Senior Product Designer working at Not on the High Street and has been a user experience designer since 2015. In that time he has been involved in events as a conference host, speaker, and moderator. Over the last 3 years he has hosted/moderated 60+ events for a multitude brands, topics, and industries.
Sharing their expertise will be:
Aleks Melnikova is a co-founder of Cosmic Velocity, a London-based service design agency that designs inclusive digital products, services and training.
Joe Cahill a NY design lead who has built products across a range of industries and has also helped many Fortune 50 teams restructure their product development team operations to successfully create and deploy products more effectively.
Lesley Sackey is a Gold Medal boxing champion who has crafted a career helping people to build confidence after traumatic experiences and create champion mindset within corporate training.
Asha Harkenss founded Indigo Inclusion and has worked with global companies, SMEs and start-ups to asses inclusion journey’s, create bespoke DEI strategies, training, creating
inclusive and authentic marketing and communications.
Alla Weinberg is a specialist in trauma-informed design and has been supporting businesses to create a culture of safety and helps to make internal changes through leadership coaching and cultural design.
Bhavesh Mistry is an award-winning, design leader with 13+ years of design experience in product, brand and experience design. He has built and scaled consumer businesses, created user-centric products, engaging brands and all within diverse, happy teams. He has worked all over the world with big guys like YouGov, BAFTA and Sony as well as some seriously-hot startups like Founders Factory, Voxbone and VIVOBAREFOOT. Bhavesh is currently working as Head of Design at Founders Factory, where we're building the next unicorns. Alongside the government agency Nesta, he has been pioneering Design for Diversity in venture building. Experimenting with building businesses with diversity at the heart of it. In his spare time, he is a founding member of Culture Heroes, an organisation looking to change the face to creative leadership.
