This talk presents a case study of the Shower Challenge app, walking through the end-to-end design and launch of a behavioral product built using a modern, AI-enhanced design workflow. The session focuses on the real process behind moving from concept to a shipped experience, including key design decisions, constraints, and lessons learned along the way.

Alongside the case study, we’ll explore how emerging AI tools can accelerate everyday design work, such as by supporting ideation, prototyping, and iteration, often without requiring engineering in the loop. Rather than replacing UX fundamentals, these tools help designers work more efficiently while staying grounded in user needs and behavioral outcomes.

The talk will also include a brief look at the speaker’s experience using Figma Make in professional work, and what it reveals about the future of designer-led product development.

About our speaker:
Diana Alayón is a Senior Product Designer with over 7 years of experience designing and shipping digital products across complex domains. Currently working in the healthcare industry, she specializes in translating behavioral insights into intuitive, impactful user experiences.

Her work focuses on modern design workflows that blend strong UX fundamentals with emerging AI-powered tools, helping teams ideate, prototype, and ship meaningful products more efficiently. When not designing, she enjoys playing volleyball and hiking in the beautiful PNW.
