Join us for UX Wales meetup 5 on Thursday March 23rd.
We're meeting at 6.30pm for a 6.45pm first talk start.
1/ Talks (1 hr)
• 'A Case Study' - Westley Knight. Westley is a UI Developer and UX Designer, with over 15 years commercial experience in both agency and in-house environments, working lately in insurance, travel and retail sectors. He's heading down from Northampton just to meet with us, so that's super nice of him! Talk sponsored by Box UK. Around 30 mins.
• 'We need to talk about how we talk' - Ben Cubbon. Ben is a Senior User Researcher at HMCTS, and was previously in UX at the Office of National Statistics. Around 10 mins.
• 'Design Thinking and UX' - Rob Parry. Rob heads up the UX SAP Team at Capgemini.
2/ Student Q+A (15-20 mins)
We'll be taking advantage of our academic surroundings by seeing if anyone is up for a student-orientated Q+A. Students at the Uni studying modules in UX and related subjects can put some questions to us more seasoned, old, jaded UX pros.
3/ UX Hack Day announcement (about 40 seconds)
Martyn Kelly will talk super-briefly about the first UX Wales hack day which will take place in May.
4/ Networking & refreshments (1 hr)
We'll be moving to another part of the Uni building for some finger food and drinks where people can hang out and introduce yourselves to each other. Our networking segment and refreshments are kindly sponsored by Capgemini.
Our host for the event is the School of Art and Design at the University of South Wales. We'll be meeting in their lovely Atrium building, just a few minutes walk from Cardiff Central and Cardiff Queen Street train stations.
