Announcing our October event
Fancy a little autumnal UX meetup? Spindogs have sponsored us with a venue for our October event, which will be on Tues 15th October at 6pm in Cardiff. Yay!

Speakers & Host
We've got 2 great speakers and talks lined up for you. Your host for the evening is Cosmina Gherghe.

Gemma Helyer
Senior Product Designer at Box UK

  • Talk: tbc

Kathryn Davies
Lead User Researcher at Cardiff University

  • Talk: How we cancelled all our projects and learned so much more
User Research at Cardiff University was proving tricky, despite having thousands of students on our doorstep. So hard, we actually gave up (for a while). In this talk I'll cover the changes we've made over the last couple of years, and how taking an audience-led approach has provided richer insight and more efficient processes.
  • Kathryn is a lead user researcher at Cardiff University. She's worked in public and private sector across the UK. Her current work focuses on the interaction of students with University services spanning digital and physical environments, and the interplay between them. She's usually not too far away from a cup of tea.

Connect and hang out
Lots of social time at this event, for you to make new friends, chat to like-minded professionals and just hang out.

Food and drink
We'll be putting on a little spread for you folks, including veggie and vegan options, and lots of refreshments. For attendees whose religion may prohibit attending events with alcohol: all of our drinks at this event are soft drinks. Contact martyn.kelly@gmail.com with any queries on anything dietary.

We can't wait to see you
Make sure you reserve your tickets asap, and do come along - if you can't make it, free up your ticket for somebody else. Any questions, hit us up in the comments, or on Twitter at @uxwales, or email martyn.kelly@gmail.com.

Thanks to our sponsors
Our sponsor for this event are Spindogs. Spindogs are an insight-led and consultative digital experience and technology company who partner with ambitious organisations to gain, retain, excite and engage their audience. They're really nice folk - from a client POV, do work with them - they're brill. And if you're looking to change jobs, definitely check out their careers pages.
