UX Wales - October Meetup

Details

Hello friends πŸ‘‹
We're pleased to announce the UX Wales October meetup which will be on Wed 8th October at Alacrity House, Newport. Our sponsor for this event is The Alacrity Foundation.

Speakers
We've got a UX Wales legend, the erudite, affable and awesome Gemma Helyer, who is with us to talk about accessibility and a practical approach to applying accessibility to what you do.

Next up, we've got Cosmina Gherghe from CGI, who is also our co-organiser. Their talk is TBD but we know it'll be a brill one.

There may be a 3rd speaker...

Tickets
Tickets as usual are free but we are limited on space, so do only grab a ticket if you're coming. There will be a waitlist and we'll free up tickets in real time if any become available. You need a ticket to attend, however - if you're stuck and don't have one by the day of the event, contact Martyn via LinkedIn and we'll see what we can do.

Running times
We know some of you may be making your way from Cardiff and further afield into Newport. Because of this, the event will start with social / networking time from 5pm and the first talk will be at 7pm.

How to get there
We'll publish directions on this event, but you can get the train to Newport and Alacrity House is just a short walk away, on the river. If you're driving, there's a Pay and Display car park next to Alacrity House that's usually pretty empty.

In other news... event naming conventions
This is our 26th event, and previous events have been called 'UX Wales 19' for our 19th event, etc. We're doing a reverse Apple and removing the number, for, ironically, usability reasons... those unfamiliar with our meetup have thought it is a yearly conference (e.g. UX Wales 25). We'll now just be calling them '\ Event' instead.

Can't wait to see you all..!

Marty
