The Proposition Design team at ACC has been using LEGO Serious Play for a few months and would like to share some of their experiences and encourage more people to give it a go.

They’ve been using it primarily for discovery and ideation when looking at problems and opportunities for the organisation. They’ve found that it’s great for helping you to understand connections, relationships and systems. But it also has a wide range of other applications such as planning, retrospectives, conflict resolution and mentoring. It’s been used internationally by organisations such as NASA, UNESCO and Google and locally by Trade Me, IR and now ACC.

They will present a very hands-on workshop, giving you a practical experience whilst you learn some of the theory. Places are limited because they only have so much LEGO to go around - so get in early, it’s going to be Seriously Fun!

Your facilitators
The Proposition Design Team is made up of:

Rupert Burton a UX Researcher that works hard to find ways to stop work being so hard - LEGO seemed like a good option.

Sam Paterson a Business Improvement Lead who loves cool stationery and solving problems.

Angus Deacon a UX Designer with a passion for LEGO and a range of interesting T-shirts.

Carl Rosati a UX Designer with a new baby, help keep him awake by asking about his wrestling figure collection.

Note: If you can’t attend due to timing or the limited spaces, please feel free to direct message Rupert through Meetup or the UX Wellington Slack channel - he’s open to running further public sessions (lunchtime or evening), or potentially in-house sessions in there’s a demand.
