What we're about

**Announcement**
We are pausing our in-person Meetup events as a measure to prevent the spread of Coronavirus to people who are vulnerable to infections in our wider communities. We are looking into remote event options so we continue sharing and learning. Stay safe and look after each other ♥️

**About our group**

Kia ora and welcome to the home of the User Experience community in Wellington, we're excited to have you here.

Our monthly events cover a range of topics in the UX, CX, design, and product areas. We keep it varied, with a focus on research and design. A wide variety of people attend our events, from experienced UX practitioners, to curious newcomers. Everyone is welcome!

As a grassroots community group, UX Wellington aims to:

• Foster a connected and inclusive UX community

• Help people share knowledge with other practitioners and enthusiasts

• Strengthen the focus on UX in organisations around Aotearoa.

If you take part in this group, you have a voice in its direction. We would like to invite you to submit an idea (https://goo.gl/forms/m47WaEG0GbpBC4G82)
for a UX Wellington event. What topics are you fascinated about at the moment? What workshop or a talk would you like to take part in? We all have interesting stories to share or gaps we would like to fill — what is yours? Let us know here (https://goo.gl/forms/m47WaEG0GbpBC4G82).

We look forward to growing with you.

Ngā mihi,
Your UX Wellington crew

24 hrs of UX - Bringing local UX to a global audience - Aotearoa Hour

On June the 10th, 24 grassroots UX-focused groups from different regions of the world will meet for 24 consecutive hours of content. The idea is that each country would present an hour of content via an online conferencing tool, and then pass the baton on to the next country! It's a cool opportunity to share with people from the UX community around the world, and hear what's on their minds too. We’ll be kicking off the event at 6pm until 7pm on June the 10th. Every country can decide their own theme, and we thought since NZ has had such a favoured response in the global media about the pandemic response, it would be interesting to focus on how it has affected the UX community in Aotearoa. To get a wide range of perspectives, we'll be hosting 10 people from around our country to share a 5 minute chat about how COVID-19 has affected their UX work, and how they think it might affect the field of UX in the future. We look forward to seeing you there and taking part in this incredible, global event. Please register via: https://hopin.to/events/24-hours-of-ux
