What we're about

**About our group**

Kia ora and welcome to the home of the User Experience community in Wellington, we're excited to have you here.

Our monthly events cover a range of topics in the UX, CX, design, and product areas. We keep it varied, with a focus on research and design. A wide variety of people attend our events, from experienced UX practitioners, to curious newcomers. Everyone is welcome!

As a grassroots community group, UX Wellington aims to:

• Foster a connected and inclusive UX community

• Help people share knowledge with other practitioners and enthusiasts

• Strengthen the focus on UX in organisations around Aotearoa.

If you take part in this group, you have a voice in its direction. We would like to invite you to submit an idea (https://goo.gl/forms/m47WaEG0GbpBC4G82)
for a UX Wellington event. What topics are you fascinated about at the moment? What workshop or a talk would you like to take part in? We all have interesting stories to share or gaps we would like to fill — what is yours? Let us know here (https://goo.gl/forms/m47WaEG0GbpBC4G82).

We look forward to growing with you.

Ngā mihi,
Your UX Wellington crew

Lunch 'n Learn

Link visible for attendees

Join UX Wellington as we partner with Optimal Workshop for their first ever Lunch 'n Learn series. Grab your lunch, invite your colleagues and lets learn how to increase collaboration amongst our UX teams.

Clara Kilman- Silver, a Senior UX Researcher at Google will unpack some of the barriers to effective designer-developer collaboration and how we can apply UX research strategies to address them?

In her talk "UX in a distributed world", Clara will discuss what makes for effective designer-developer collaboration, including workflow stages, the role of design systems, common pain points, and mitigation strategies––based on UX research studies with designers, developers, and product teams over the last three years. We will also cover research on UX tools, how tools have transformed workflows, and where a perceived tooling problem might actually be a process issue (and what you can do about it). In addition, we will consider how tools and workflows might evolve in the future.

Agenda:
12 pm - Welcome
12:05 - Intro and presentation
12:35 - Questions + Answers
12:45 - Wrap up

The Zoom link will be sent out to RSVP'd guests the day before the event.
Thank you!
