📖 An English-language non-fiction book club for entrepreneurs in Valencia

[Newcomers welcome!] A monthly meetup for entrepreneurs in Valencia to read, discuss, and actually do something with business books. You'll share insights with fellow founders, decide on actions to take in your own business, and get accountability from a professional business consultant who helps you turn what you've read into actions you'll actually follow through on. From 3 July to 11th September we are reading/working on "The Psychology of Money" by Morgan Housel.

📍 Location: Online (we normally meet in person but many are away for summer so we are meeting online in August)
📆 Date: First Friday of every month

✅ Requirements

• You must run a real business with paying clients (the business can be based anywhere).
• You must be committed to show up in person every month and be willing to contribute to discussions.

📢 Key information

• Internationals welcomed but we will pick primarily English language books and all discussions will be held in English.
• Free to attend.
• You get 1 full month to read each book and 2 months to implement. It is okay if you don't manage to read the whole book in the month, we know being a business owner is busy.
• Meetings will alternate - month 1 is to discuss the book, month 2 is to set actions and start to implement, month 3 is to discuss how well we each implemented the lessons from it, to continue implementing, and decide the next book. Month 4 will be a new book and the cycle repeats. It's okay to join halfway through a book 'cycle' as there's still lots to learn.
• No unsolicited pitches. You will get a structured opportunity to share what you do reasonably regularly.
• Ideally service-based businesses (coaches, agencies, etc.) so our collective insights better apply for each other.
• I’d prefer to welcome mostly lifestyle businesses. People that want to build businesses that make them happy and fulfilled, not just filthy rich. Money is good, but balance matters.
• The group is capped at 8 for the moment. As of writing, we already have 6 regular members. First come, first served.

The club will decide on the books together but in general think along the lines of:

👨 Who runs the club?
The business book club is run by me, John J D Munn, an established business consultant specialising in helping people run 6-figure businesses while working less than 20h per week. I also run an environmental social enterprise. I am originally from the UK and have lived in Valencia since 2020.
