About us
We all carry stories that have shaped who we are. Some are joyful. Some are painful. Some are still waiting to be told.
The stories we tell help us understand ourselves, connect more deeply with others, and become more human.
Storytelling Valencia is a community for people who want to transform lived experiences into meaningful fiction while discovering their authentic voice.
Whether you're writing your first short story or working on a book, you'll learn how to:
⢠Transform personal experiences into compelling stories
⢠Find your authentic voice
⢠Create memorable characters, scenes, and emotional depth
⢠Develop a regular writing practice
⢠Receive thoughtful feedback in a supportive community
⢠Connect more deeply through storytelling
Each meetup includes a writing prompt, a creative exercise, and the opportunity to share your work if you choose. No experience is necessary.
If you're carrying a story you've always wanted to write, this is your place to begin.

Storytelling 1:1 Coaching â Diagnose Your Story
¡OnlineOnlineDiscover the story you want to tell, see it more clearly, and finish it with confidence.
Maybe you have a story you want to write but donât know where to begin. Maybe youâve already written the first draftâor the fifthâand know thereâs something there, but youâre not sure whether the story is working or what needs to change.
This private 1:1 storytelling session is designed to meet you wherever you are in the process. Together, we can discover the story you want to tell, uncover what itâs really about, and shape it into something you feel confident finishing and sharing. If you already have a draft, you can send me your story or excerpt before our session. Iâll review it, and during our time together, weâll diagnose the areas that need the most attention, which may include:
- Finding the story and its central idea
- Narrative arc and structure
- Tension and pacing
- Character development
- Emotional spine
- Showing vs. telling
- Beginnings and endings
- What to cut, expand, or rewrite
This isnât a writing lecture. We work directly on your story. Youâll receive personalized feedback, ask questions, and leave with greater clarity about what you want to say and what to do next.
WHO IT IS FOR
Writers working on short stories, autofiction, personal essays, or chapters of a larger manuscript who want an experienced outside perspective before taking their next revision step.
You don't have to be a writer. If you use storytelling professionallyâfor example, in marketing, communications, content creation, or teaching storytellingâyou can bring the stories you're developing for your work and we'll apply the same storytelling principles. And if you're completely new to storytelling, you're welcome too. Come to the session with an idea, an experience, or even a few rough thoughts. Together, we'll find the story within them and begin giving it shape.
Whether you're discovering a story for the first time or revising one you've been working on for months, the goal is the same: see your story more clearly and finish it with confidence.QUESTIONS

Storytelling Lab â Group Feedback
¡OnlineOnlineWorkshop your writing, get live feedback, and learn by analyzing other writersâ stories.
Sometimes the best way to improve a story is to stop working on it alone.
The Storytelling Lab is an interactive group session where you can bring your writing, share your work, receive constructive feedback, and learn by listening to the stories and perspectives of other storytellers.Unlike the Storytelling Masterclass (Iâll be posting more masterclasses in the future), which focuses primarily on learning the craft, the Lab is about putting storytelling into practice.
We work with real stories, real challenges, and real questions.During each session, we'll read and discuss selected pieces from the group. Together, we'll look at areas such as:
- Narrative arc and structure
- Tension and pacing
- Character development
- Emotional spine
- Showing vs. telling
- Beginnings and endings
- Whatâs working and where the story could go deeper
- What to cut, expand, or explore further
You'll receive feedback on your own work while also learning from the feedback given to others. Often, seeing what worksâor doesn't workâin another person's story helps you recognize something you couldn't see in your own.
WHO IT IS FOR
The Storytelling Lab is for people who are actively working on storiesâwriters, creatives, marketers, teachers, and entrepreneurs. You might be working on a short story, autofiction, personal essay, or a chapter of a larger manuscript. You might also use storytelling professionally in marketing, communications, content creation, teaching, or business.
You don't need to arrive with a finished story. You can bring an idea, a work in progress, or something you're currently revising and use the group discussion to help give it shape.
This is a space to share, experiment, ask questions, receive feedback, and become a stronger storyteller alongside other people doing the same.
The goal is simple: bring your story, see it through fresh eyes, and leave with greater clarity and confidence about where to take it next.
Please note: This isn't an introductory storytelling class. You should have some experience writing or telling stories and come prepared with a story, idea, or work in progress you'd like to develop. If you're completely new to storytelling, the Storytelling Masterclass or Storytelling 1:1 Coaching â Diagnose Your Story (check the events page) may be a better place to start.QUESTIONS

Never written a story before? This class is for you.
You don't need to be a writer to have a story worth telling. You'll also be introduced to autofictionâthe space between lived experience and imaginationâand learn how writers can change, invent, or rearrange details to serve the story while preserving its emotional truth.
This isn't just a lecture. You'll be writing throughout the workshop, with guided exercises designed to take you from âI have a memoryâ to âI have the beginning of a story.â There will also be time for group feedback and Q&A.
### What You'll Learn
- How to recognize which memories contain a story
- How to find the tension and emotional spine
- How to turn memories into vivid scenes
- Autofiction: where memory ends and imagination begins
- How to use action, dialogue, sensory detail, and inner thought
- How to shape a beginning, middle, and end
