You have an idea. You care about it. You might even be excited about it.
And yet... you don't start.

Or you start, but don't finish. You overthink it, wait until you feel ready, get distracted, or suddenly find ten other things that seem more important.

So why do we procrastinate, especially with the things that matter to us?

In this 1-hour talk, I'll explore procrastination from both my experience as a clinician and as someone who has personally struggled with it.

We'll look beyond the usual explanations of laziness, motivation and discipline and explore some of what may actually be happening underneath procrastination, particularly when creativity, self-expression and being seen are involved.

We'll explore:

• Why procrastination isn't always about poor discipline
• What might be happening underneath avoidance
• The connection between creativity, fear, perfectionism and being seen
• Why something can matter deeply to you and still be difficult to do
• How the way you think about procrastination can keep the cycle going
• A practical way to begin moving forward when you feel stuck

I'll also walk you through a practical example so you can see how to apply what we've discussed to something you're currently avoiding.
This is not about becoming perfectly productive.

It's about understanding what is getting in the way of doing the things that matter to you, and learning how to work with yourself rather than constantly fighting yourself.
