This workshop will put you in touch with the intrinsic intelligence of your moving, feeling body. Whether or not you are coordinated, flexible, or strong, this practice is a joyful path to greater physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being. This workshop will lead you through an approachable process developed over 20 years of leading people safely into connection with their physicality. As a trauma-aware space you will be led clearly through specific and repeatable steps, yet you will never be forced to participate in any particular way. Through simple movement you will have the opportunity to re-integrate aspects of yourself that may have shut down or become shy due to the shaming and objectification of bodies that most of us grew up with. Join us to fall more deeply in love with who your body is no matter your level of experience—beginners will be fully supported and advanced movers will be held respectfully in their elegance.

Please wear layered warm clothing for easy movement with no belts or buckles—like you might wear to a yoga class.

Matthew Nelson is a somatic teacher, healer, and dancer who has spent 30 years immersed in the mystery of movement. Matthew has helped thousands in awakening their vitality, not as something to fix or force, but as a natural emergence of life moving through the body. Coming from a broad base of education including an MFA in Modern Dance, certifications in Laban Movement Analysis, Pilates, and Massage--Matthew’s work honors the intelligence of sensation, the power of presence, and the unnamable current that underlies all true aliveness. In a world often disconnected from the body, Matthew invites a return—to feeling, to flow, and to the sacredness of being fully here.
