Welcome to the Vancouver UFO Group, where we explore UFOs, non-human intelligence, consciousness, spirituality, and humanity's possible future relationship with advanced non-human intelligences.
Our meetings bring together curious newcomers, experiencers, researchers, authors, scientists, meditators, and anyone interested in exploring these subjects in a respectful, open-minded environment.
Whether you've spent decades studying UFOs or you're simply curious, you'll find friendly people, thoughtful discussions, and opportunities to learn from others.
Our group is also a welcoming community for people who may feel isolated in their interest in UFOs and related phenomena. Here, you'll find like-minded people, thoughtful conversations, and the opportunity to form lasting friendships.

## Every Meeting Begins with The Contact Circle
We begin each in-person meeting with The Contact Circle—our tradition of giving everyone who wishes an opportunity to introduce themselves for up to five minutes and share what's currently on their mind.
You might talk about:
- a UFO sighting or paranormal experience,
- a fascinating book, podcast, documentary, or video,
- new research or scientific discoveries,
- current UFO news,
- meditation, consciousness, or spirituality,
- an insight you've had,
- or simply ask a question you've been wondering about.
There is never any pressure to speak. Listening is always welcome.
The Contact Circle helps everyone get to know one another, exchange ideas, and build the sense of community that makes the Vancouver UFO Group unique.

## What We Do
Most meetings include one or more of the following:
- Group discussions on a topic.
- Guest speakers.
- Questions and answers.
- Social time before or after the meeting.
Rather than being speaker-focused, many of our meetings encourage participation and discussion, allowing us to benefit from our collective knowledge, wisdom, and experiences.
Our discussions are lively, dynamic, and often continue right up until the meeting ends. Many members tell us they enjoy the discussion and exchange of ideas just as much as, or even more than, the guest presentations.
## Our Philosophy
We encourage respectful dialogue and welcome a diversity of viewpoints.
Brian Ruhe, the organizer, has his own well-developed perspective within ufology, but members are never expected to agree with it. Civil discussion, curiosity, and thoughtful inquiry are the foundation of our community.
Our goal is to create a friendly, respectful, and intellectually curious community where people feel comfortable exploring extraordinary subjects together.

## In-Person and Online Community
We regularly hold meetings in Vancouver and Coquitlam and frequently host guest speakers from the United States and around the world.
If you live outside the Lower Mainland, you're still welcome to participate.
If you organize a UFO or experiencer group and would like your meeting listed here, or if you're interested in speaking or hosting a discussion, please contact Brian.
Our Meetup is part of the international Preparing for Contact initiative inspired by ICER (the International Coalition for Extraterrestrial Research):

The Vancouver UFO Group is also part of the broader educational project, University Galacticus:
