Walk 6 or 11 km.

Our walks are restricted to club members who have paid $15 for a 12-month membership. However, if you would like to try one or two walks before committing yourself to a paid membership, you do have that option. (You’d still need to pay $1 or $2 for each walk.) For more information about our club and/or to request a membership form, please send an email to [vancouverventurers@gmail.com](mailto:vancouverventurers@gmail.com). In the subject line of your email, write MEETUP.

Take the ferry from Tsawwassen to Pender Island – Otter Bay and return to Tsawwassen the same day. Leave Tsawwassen 9:55 am and arrive Otter Bay 12:00 noon. Walk starts from Otter Bay – no car needed. This is mid-week, so free for BC residents over the age of 65. Ferry reservations recommended.

Walkers will register (sign in) either on the ferry or at the start point.

Please note: Although the number of attendees indicated on this page may appear low, be assured that you will be walking with many club members who have not RSVP’d. We rarely have fewer than 15 participants at any of our walks.

Route Description:
This walk takes you to Port Washington where the first Government Wharf was built in 1891. Those doing the 11K will continue through beautiful, forested roads to Hope Bay and return through more quiet roads.

Lunch: Pack your food and drink for the day. You can eat on the ferry on your way over and on your return trip. There are no eating facilities nor places to purchase food, snacks or drinks during or at the end of the walk.

NOTE: Once you have RSVP’d, our Meetup site will always show your status as “Unpaid”. This is not a cause for concern. The $2.00 participation fee for the walk is paid on the ferry or at the start point and to save us some work, we will not be recording on Meetup that you have paid it.

If you have any questions, please post them here on Meetup or send an email to [vancouverventurers@gmail.com](mailto:vancouverventurers@gmail.com).
