Land Bridge & Fort Vancouver Loop
Details
Land Bridge & Fort Vancouver Loop
The walk begins around the scheduled start time at the Salmon Run Bell Tower in Esther Short Park.
I will arrive about 10 to 15 minutes early to socialize and help anyone who has questions or concerns. Newcomers are encouraged to arrive early so we can meet before the walk and I can introduce you to some of the people who are already there.
We will usually start walking between 2 and 5 minutes after the scheduled start time, depending on when the group is ready. When we leave, we will post the exact departure time in the event comments so anyone running behind knows when the group started walking.
From the Salmon Run Bell Tower, we will head from downtown toward the Vancouver Land Bridge and Historic Apple Tree. From there, we will continue toward Fort Vancouver and Pearson Field, loop through the historic area, then return by way of the Howard House, Officers Row, and The Academy before heading back toward downtown.
This route connects the waterfront, Vancouver Land Bridge, Fort Vancouver, Pearson Field, Officers Row, and the surrounding historic district into one relaxed loop.
Distance: about 3.5 miles
Pace: easy and conversational
Surface: mostly paved paths and sidewalks
Difficulty: easy to moderate because of the Land Bridge, street crossings, and several route turns
There may be some downtown construction or temporary route changes along the way, so we will adjust as needed.
As always, everything is optional. Join when you can, leave when you want, and feel free to meet us anywhere along the route.
