Vancouver Walk & Talk: Green Mountain Scout Hike
Details
Come join Vancouver Walk & Talk for a scout hike at Green Mountain in Camas.
This will be our first time doing this route as a group, so this is a scout hike. Scout hikes are a little more exploratory than our regular walks. We may stop along the way to take pictures and look at trail conditions, footing, roots, elevation, junctions, viewpoints, and anything else that helps us learn the trail for future hikes.
The West Green Mountain Trail is approximately 2.6 miles round trip with about 600 feet of elevation gain.
Difficulty: 2/3 out of 5
This is a relatively short hike, but it includes a steady uphill climb through dense evergreen forest. The trail has mixed natural terrain and some steeper sections, so sturdy shoes are recommended.
We will hike at an easy, conversational pace and take breaks as needed.
I will arrive about 10 to 15 minutes early to socialize and help anyone who has questions or concerns. Newcomers are encouraged to arrive early so we can meet before the hike and I can introduce you to some of the people who are already there.
We will usually start hiking between 2 and 5 minutes after the scheduled start time, depending on when the group is ready. When we leave, I will post the exact departure time in the event comments so anyone running behind knows when the group started.
Parking is limited to approximately 10 vehicles at the trailhead. Please arrive early and carpool when possible.
Dogs are welcome but must remain on leash.
As always, feel free to come, go, participate, talk, or simply hike with the group at whatever level feels comfortable. There is no pressure to socialize or stay for the entire event.
We meet. We walk. We talk.
