About us
We are a group of passionate cinema fans, we are aiming at viewing the most recent (International/Award Winners/Non-Hollywood/Indie/Docs/other special) movies with people who share the same interest.
We go movies from all over the world, and get time to chat over the movies & share the experience.
Meetups for indie local films will also be organized to help introduce our local film makers to a bigger audience.
Meetups will be organized for International award winners playing in Vancouver.
We are Looking for all the avid cinema fans outside to come, let us entertain you!

Ocean Film Fest World Tour 2026 - Short Docs

"A breathtaking series of short films that take us through the world's most spectacular marine environments, capturing the raw beauty, untamed power, and majesty of our oceans."
We've gone the past 2 yrs & really liked it, so we're going again.

Note I was able to get a discount for our members. Msg me directly to get the discount code. If you haven't paid your 2026 member dues($5) yet & would like to, msg me for etransfer info.
We'll plan to meet by 620 pm-ish in front of the KFC located across the street, then we'll cross the road to lineup to get in the thtr. There usually are some interesting display tables in the lobby to look at. We'll aim to get seats in Row K &/or L on the West (left) side or middle of the thtre by 645ish.
If you arrive later & want to sit with the group, look for us in Rows K & L and read the Comments for an update re location.

Afterwards, if there's interest we'll walk down to a nearby casual cafe for a quick drink & chat if time allows(they close at 11)
This event will be a combo of speakers & films, not just films.
If you're driving, note that there is construction & the parking is limited near the thtr. I recommend parking on the West side of Lonsdale on W. 22nd, 21st or 20th St if you can.

*On Fri, Oct 2, there is ANOTHER (new) different Ocean Film Fest, believe it or not. It's called Our Ocean Fest & has a Canadian focus & is Canadian-produced. https://www.ouroceanfilmfest.ca/tickets Msg me for a $10 off code! I'm not sure yet if I can go due to VIFF being on at the same time.

Let's party at Cinematheque's annual Film Noir shindig again, then watch a gripping, sultry 1953 thriller, Niagara, starring Marilyn Monroe.We'll enjoy vinyl jazz &, cold drinks(including boozy bevies) in Cinematheque's courtyard before the film. Catch up with meetup regulars, or come for the 1st time to check it all out. :)

Cinematheque is a 10 min walk from Yaletown Canada Line station & one block from Granville St.
Marilyn Monroe and Joseph Cotten are a maniacally mismatched couple vacationing on the scenic Canadian(yay!) side of Niagara Falls in Henry Hathaway’s delectably tawdry noir brimming with dark deeds and “a raging torrent of emotion".
