Let's catch the Canadian premiere of 10 new short mental health films, followed by a talkback with the filmmaking teams. Last year's screening was great — this year's lineup looks just as thought-provoking and powerful!

Highlights:
- World premiere of 10 new mental health short films created through the Voices With Impact grant
- Doors open: 6:15 PM. Films usually run 6:45 - 9:00 PM. Filmmakers will join us for a live talkback right after the screening
- Tickets are $11.53. Purchase here:

We’ll meet on the 2nd floor balcony around 6:30-6:45 PM — it’s easy to spot each other there. I’ll post a final meetup spot in the comments closer to the day.

They usually screen the films in two sets with a break in between, then open it up for Q&A with the filmmakers. Afterward we can chat about what stood out to us.

A sampling of a few films on the program:
- Flower in the Concrete: In a LA neighborhood facing displacement, longtime residents come together to protect their community
- FIVE YEARS IN 8MM: A home-movie-style doc following Cody’s gender transition among his NYC queer community, experiencing coping, survival & joy
- Lost At Sea: After losing someone she loves, a young woman drifts thru a surreal sea of people, battling grief until she learns to let love and loss coexist
- Talking Where I'm From: A young woman's journey to connect with her Indigenous roots, exploring the complexities of identity and belonging

All the films sound great… there will be lots to talk about after each set.
