What we’re about

Vancouver Gaymers is a social group for Vancouver's LGBTQ+ geeks and gamers.

Our Discord server hosts ongoing chat, video gaming, and events are also posted here: https://discord.com/invite/NdKfJQ7

This group started back in 2009 by a group of friends meeting at local Tim Hortons and libraries. It has since grown into a group of people united by our love of gaming and geek culture. We hold monthly events that offer a safe space for LGBTQ+ people to be themselves.

This is a huge space, with plenty of room and several projectors & screens for many board & video games. To get there:

The office is a few minutes walk from Main St/Science World Station, to 369 Terminal Ave.

The front doors to the building and elevator will unlock at 1pm - you cannot get in early!

Follow the signage, and take the elevator to the 7th floor

The “Great Room” break room space is on the left

Bring some board games, or consoles & video games, so grab a controller and play some games with the best 2SLGBTQ+ nerds in town. We’ll have our VanGaymers Switch set up for play, too! This is a work space for some amazing gamers and we want to keep it in great condition for them. Please observe the space rules upon arrival so we are sure to keep using this space for our community:

Water, tea, coffee, cups, and glasses will be available

Please eat before arriving, or BYO snacks and food is okay!

Washrooms are gendered - you are welcome to use whichever gender you are more comfortable with

Please stay in the lunchroom area

Leave staff food, soda, fridges, and snacks alone - these are for employees only

Join us upstairs at Kelly O'Bryan's! Please tip the staff on your food & drink - standard tipping culture in Canada is 15-20%.

If you don't order anything, we ask you to tip the staff $3-$5 directly to cover their time serving water and keeping the area dedicated to us.

Bring along your favourite board games, Switch, or whatever you like, or play games that other people have brought along! There is usually plenty of choice.

Note, the bar is 19+, bring ID.

We have the entire upstairs reserved! Let the staff know you are here for Vancouver Gaymers, and they'll direct you upstairs.
