Machine learning in the real world [Dr. Jure Leskovec, Pinterest]

Dr. Jure Leskovec, professor of computer science at Stanford is returning to #vblatu as chief scientist and head of Pinterest Labs.

Pinterest is a visual discovery application powered by machine learning. At Pinterest we use machine learning to model relationships between pins, understand style and visual signal, handle cold-start problems, and provide personalized real-time recommendations to over 200M users all over the world. In this talk Jure will give an overview of the machine learning efforts and solutions at Pinterest. He will focus on systems and effective engineering choices that enable productive machine learning development and allow engineers to effectively develop, test, and deploy machine-learning-based products.
