About us
Meet Vegans and vegetarians in Bergen County. We usually gather at restaurants but picnics, potlucks, movies, and comedy clubs are options. We've been doing this 17+ years and there is a group of regulars, but usually some new faces at each event. Note that we announce some events in other social media, so the rsvp lists you see here may not reflect all attending.
What follows are previous comments by our first organizer who stepped aside to let others run the show:
Discuss veganism or the weather. Share your favorite (or least) 'V'ecipes and make, (or offend) new friends. The group welcomes vegans, vegetarians, and raw foodists.
Carnivores / Veggie Curious are welcome, but heckling the herd with yarns of animal targetry will result in C/V/C finding themselves face to face with a table of foaming vegans, many of whom may be animal rights activists, and it is these such circumstances that underscore the ACT in activist.
In the unlikely event that such should transpire, I myself, being a pacifist, will hide under the table.
Seriously, the worst that could happen is someone deviously, inadvertently puts the sizzling tofu platter too close and the heckler gets their eyebrows singed off.
As evident by the intro, the only other prerequisite aside from dietary adherence, is a sense of humor. Those lacking will not be humored.

Tiffany Sara Cornilia Haddish is an Emmy and Grammy award-winning actress, comedian, author, and stand-up performer. She had a challenging childhood and credits a specific comedy program with changing her life's trajectory. Haddish is known for her breakout role as Dina in the comedy Girls Trip, where she co-starred with Jada Pinkett Smith, Queen Latifah, and Regina Hall. She also starred in the TV sitcom The Last O.G. with Tracy Morgan from 2018 to 2020.
