VSDC Vegan Afternoon Hike: Rock Creek Park
Details
Join us for a new VSDC hike (and experiment for a Saturday afternoon) in Rock Creek Park! This will be a relaxed but real hike of about 3.5 miles, organized to test interest in later-day hikes for those who prefer not to start earlier in the morning.
We’ll meet near Rock Creek Park Nature Center / Horse Center area and follow the Boulder Bridge Loop, descending through the woods toward Rock Creek, continuing to scenic Boulder Bridge, and then looping back toward the Nature Center along the ridge. This hike is generally easy to moderate, but please be prepared for July heat, dirt trail, roots, uneven ground, and a steady uphill section on the return. We’ll aim for a social, relaxed pace and should be hiking for around 2 hours, with the 3:00–6:00 pm window allowing time to gather, hike comfortably, and adjust for weather.
Please bring plenty of water, wear sturdy walking or hiking shoes, and bring snacks if you’d like.
