Vegan Spirituality Potluck & Dharma Discussion with Seven Dhar

Join us for a potluck and Dharma discussion with Urban Shaman Seven Dhar! To begin this new year, let's get back to basics, back to the root of Buddhist terms translated as "meditation" and "mindfulness" and the three fundamentals of the path of purification. We'll enjoy a night of Dharma discussion, guided serenity meditation, mindful movement, universal loving kindness, Sanskrit, and group sharing. For the potluck, bring a vegan (plant-based raw and cooked foods, no animal products of any kind) potluck dish to share, your own plate/cup/utensils, and an open heart. We will have extra plates and utensils on hand. Be mindful to bring a dish versus a snack or drink so we have plenty of food for everyone. Schedule: 6pm Vegan Potluck 7pm Dharma Discussion 8:00 Socialize More about Seven Dhar: Seven Dhar is a vegan, Los Angeles Native American, urban shaman, Irish comedian, ashtanga yogi, Buddhist meditation teacher for Dharma Meditation Initiative (meetup.com/zen-07), and editor at Wisdom Quarterly: American Buddhist Journal -- poetically pushes the limits of language, merging East and West, in the awed tongue of mystics. A graduate of UC Berkeley and UCLA, he teaches that the True Wheel, the universal Dharma, the marriage of wisdom and compassion, benefits all beings, human, animal, spiritual, elemental.
