About us
From Ventura to Ojai, Santa Barbara to San Luis Obispo, the Central Coast is a beautiful place to live and visit.
Being vegan on the Central Coast can sometimes feel isolating, and there's nothing like the instant kinship you feel when meeting a fellow vegan. Let's get together and hang out, have some outdoor adventures, get the kids together to play, enjoy great vegan food, and support each other!
You don't have to be vegan to come to our meetups, you just have to have an open mind, be veg-curious, and be ready to have some fun!
If you are just visiting the Central Coast, I hope you'll join one of our meetups and hang out with us!
Future events may include Nature Walks, Hiking, Beach Days, Trail Running, Picnics, BBQs, Kids' Playdates, Doggy Playdates, Kayaking, Geocaching, Farm Sanctuary Visits, and more!
(Anyone under 18 must have a parent or guardian attend with them)
Join the group and spread the word!

VegCrush 2026!
Location not specified yetHi everyone! I’m Justin with In Defense of Animals, and I wanted to share something happening around SLO County that I think this group might enjoy.
🌱 VegCrush 2026 | October 5–18
We’re celebrating plant-based food and cruelty-free businesses throughout San Luis Obispo County!
What’s happening:
- 🍽️ 30+ local businesses are participating
- 🌮 Discover new plant-based food and drink options
- 🛍️ Support local businesses offering cruelty-free products
- 📍 Participating businesses are located throughout SLO County
- ❤️ Bring a friend and try somewhere new!
There’s also a way to help make plant-based options more accessible locally:
✍️ Sign the VegCrush petition encouraging SLO County government officials to support more plant-based food options on menus throughout the county.
Whether you’re vegan, vegetarian, plant-curious, or simply want more choices when you eat out, your voice can help show that there’s a community asking for more plant-based options.
👉 Check out the participating businesses + learn more + sign the petition: www.idausa.org/vegcrush
If you participate in VegCrush, I’d love to hear what places you check out! 🌱
