What we’re about
Vegas Programmers (Formally known as PHP Vegas) is an open and free community of computer scientists who love to develop software. Our meetup is open everyone; both new and experienced programmers are all welcome. Our meetups are on the 3rd Tuesday of the month at Corporate Coworking at 6pm.
What to expect - We usually have 1 or 2 speakers cover technical topics involving the world of software development, system administration, devops, tools, and more. Examples are PHP, JavaScript, Web Development, Open Source Software, other programming languages, tools, best practices, and more. Meetups are 2 hours long with some time to chat at the end.
Our group is dedicated to teaching, learning, and growing the local Software Developer & VegasTech community.
Many developers are experts in one segment or another and we love when people can share valuable technologies with our group. We also love new people looking to get into programming! This group will be an opportunity for all of us to teach what we know and learn more about what interests us. If you are looking to teach, learn, network, or just mingle; please join the group and participate on our adventure together.
We thank our sponsors for providing food, beverages, swag, license keys, meetup costs, and more.
***If you are interested in sponsoring our group, contact me at Josh@RemoteDevForce.com***
Our goal:
• Create a community where software programmers can grow together.
• Expand the usage of PHP and other programming languages in Southern Nevada.
• Help software developers through mentoring and training.
• Create events that promote the 3 items above.
We maintain a harassment free zone. (see policy)

IMPORTANT: Recruiters and companies who need to hire: This is a user group where developers come to socialize and learn, NOT a head hunting resource. If you are not a developer or do not desire to learn more about PHP, joining this group may NOT be for you. However, we do welcome meeting sponsors for an opportunity to reach out to members.

See all- [EXTERNAL] Austin PHP @ Longhorn PHP 2025: Lightning Talks!Link visible for attendees
Longhorn PHP is back this October, and along with it is an in-person Austin PHP meetup in collaboration with MergePHP at the Longhorn PHP venue: Holiday Inn Austin Midtown.
This year, in addition to catching up with other folks in the PHP community, whether they're attending, volunteering, sponsoring, or speaking at the conference (or none of the above), we'll have lightning talks! Sign up for a 5-10 minute talk slot to secure your spot in the lineup, or just show up and hang out. We'll accept submissions from both in-person and online-folks, but in-person attendees will be first in the lineup.
While a ticket is required for the main conference, this event is free and open to the public, so stop by even if you can't make it for the conference during the day.
With that said, you won't want to miss the 6th edition of Longhorn PHP, with six three-hour tutorials across three tracks on Thursday the 23rd, plus four keynotes, 33 talks across three tracks, and two Open Spaces sessions across Friday the 24th and Saturday the 25th, plus, as of this announcement, an afterparty on Friday the 24th thanks to Roave. Take a look at the schedule, then grab $20 off your in-person ticket(or $10 off an online ticket for Friday and Saturday) if you purchase tickets by September 25th.
