Volunteer Day at Austin Farm Sanctuary (Paige, TX)
Details
Join the Austin Vegan Association for a volunteer morning at Austin Farm Sanctuary, a nonprofit refuge for rescued farm animals in Paige, TX.
We’ll lend a hand with light chores around the sanctuary — tasks may include sweeping out animal enclosures, refilling hay racks, scooping, or helping tidy up the grounds. Afterward, we’ll have a chance to meet and feed some of the sanctuary’s wonderful residents — cows, goats, pigs, and more!
What to bring:
- Closed-toe shoes or work boots (loaner boots are available at the entrance; shoe coverings are required for biosecurity)
- Hat, sunscreen, and a reusable water bottle
- Optional produce treats for the animals: apples, carrots, lettuce, or watermelon (pre-cut, sticker-free, and packed in a reusable bag, please)
Important notes:
- No outside animals (including support animals) are allowed on the premises for the safety of the residents.
- The tour/work area involves walking about half a mile over grassy terrain, mostly in the sun. If you want to know more about the level of accessibility, please email Chris Fuller-Wigg at chris@austinfarmsanctuary.org.
- Please sign and bring the required waiver before arrival: https://bit.ly/afswaiver
