VegKC Boardgames & Nibbles September

Details
VegKC is hosting our first formal board game night!
Come join us to play a variety of board games while enjoying some tasty vegan appetizers or finger foods, potluck style.
Bring a tasty vegan appetizer / snack / or dessert and optionally drinks (non-alcoholic) at about 1:00 pm. If you have a recipe you want to try, know how to make, or something else that intrigues you - feel free. This won't be a formal meal, just assorted light snacks to keep us playing.
Please read the full event details before coming!
We will start this event earlier than usual to allow for time to finish a couple of games or a longer game. Depending on the group size we may split into a couple of smaller groups to play multiple games or play a bigger game together.
For privacy the venue address isn't listed publicly, please email one of the hosts via Meetup 2-3 days before the event, for the address and directions.
WHAT WILL WE DO?
We have a fair collection of board games games to play, but feel free to bring a favorite or three to share. (Think: Concordia, Ticket to Ride, Dominion, Journeys to Middle Earth, Quarriors ... plus maybe even some classics like Chess, Backgammon, or Cups.)
WHAT DO I BRING?
- Yourself (of course). Family and friends are welcome, too. The event will be kid-friendly (VegKC events generally maintain an Alcohol-free environment).
- Comment here with what appetizer or snack you intend to bring!
- Vegan appetizer or snack ...
- Everything must be vegan (no dairy, no eggs, no honey, no animal products of any kind).
- Bring a tasty appetizer, snack, or treat to share.
- If you need ideas for what to bring, here are a few: spanakopita's, crackers and vegan cheese, vegan charcuterie, nachos, guacamole, chips & salsa, pretzels, popcorn, cookies, pita & hummus, olive assortment.
- Feel free to bring a beverage for yourself or to share. There will be an electric hot water kettle and assorted teas available.
- Feel free to also bring yourself a sandwich or meal in case the appetizers aren't enough. Any foods brought should be strictly vegetarian AKA vegan.
For this particular event items that aren't messy or greasy to eat with your fingers are preferred, or items that can be eaten with utensils to allow snacking while keeping the games in good shape.
WHERE IS IT?
The potluck is at "Dragon's Cozy Cave". There is limited table seating, assorted couches and chairs, benches, cushions, and plenty of space to sprawl around casually and visit.
This is a private residence, so please be respectful of the space so that we may continue to host future events here!
This space is home to a clowder of kitties, so please be mindful coming in and closing the door to keep our furry friends safe. We do have hardwood floors which helps if you have allergies.
HOW DO I GET THERE?
It is located near I-29 and Barry Road about 20 minutes North of downtown / the River Market, please email the organizers for directions 2-3 days before the event (Click on an event host, click "Chat with [name]").
The parking is in a residential area on the street, please be mindful of leaving driveways, roadways, and fire hydrants clear.
ACCESSIBILITY
It is a split level with stairs and no front railing - it is unfortunately not wheelchair friendly. The house is in reasonable shape, but is gradually undergoing renovations.
