About the Book: Age Like a Yogi explores spiritual awakening yoga-style and the fundamentals of yoga’s sister science, ayurveda, for care of the body. While one of its 40 chapters does cover asana practice––downward dogs and the like––the others explore the richness of a yogic lifestyle and worldview. This starts with dynamic compassion, yoga's first moral precept, and includes inner exploration and ayurvedic self-care to up the odds of loving your life for as long as you live it.
Based on the author's 50-plus years of yogic exploration, and the feisty inspiration of role models, such as her first yoga teacher, Stella Cherfas, now 99, this book unearths the charms, as well as the challenges, of life's later decades.
Age Like a Yogi gives the reader both immediately applicable tools for spiritual awareness and physical vitality, and a way of living that can make this world kinder, saner, and a little more beautiful.
