About us
This group is about people getting together who share a common interest in learning about healthy, locally grown food, compassionate eating, helping the environment, and improving their overall health. We host a potluck supper once a month. All foods brought must be vegan, and copies of recipes are encouraged to be shared. Due to our diverse membership, we also encourage members to post events that might interest others in the group. This may include activism activities, dine-outs at restaurants, community events, outdoor activities, child play-dates, etc. Please join us in this casual, welcoming group--whether you have been a vegan all your life or someone who is just curious about incorporating more plant-based foods into your diet.

Farm Tour & Vegan Potluck
C.A.R.E. Farm Sanctuary, 7295 FR 1190, Aurora, MO, USHosted by Project Animal Freedom.
Let's go hang out with the animals at C.A.R.E. Sanctuary! We will start out by feasting on vegan delights, so please bring a vegan dish to share, a beverage, plates & utensils for yourself. After lunch, we will take a hay wagon ride around the property to see the beauty of nature (takes about an hour). Then everyone can spend time meeting and playing with the animals. Cows, pigs, the goat and horses love to be petted. Those animals can have carrots or sweet potato slices if anyone wants to bring them treats. If you are planning on being around the animals, please wear appropriate clothing and closed-toed shoes.
Directions from Springfield: Take Hwy60 west to Aurora. Turn south on Hwy39. Follow 39 about 9 miles to just BEFORE the highway curves, take FR 1190 to the right. Follow 1190 3 miles and come to a "Y" stay straight to cross over low water bridge with yellow railing. It is the next/only driveway on the right. You will see loafing sheds and horses near the driveway.
