UPDATE Tuesday April 14: We've learned that a section of the freeway from 17th Street to 4th Street in San Francisco eastbound will be closed before the Bay Bridge due to construction this weekend. The Bay Bridge will be open but there may be heavy traffic on surface streets in SOMA eastbound making returning to the east bay slow. For folks coming from the east bay, it is recommended to take BART if possible. Union Square (our meeting point) is close to Powell Street station and we will finish near Civic Center station. Join the San Francisco Vegan Society for the return of our annual Earth Day March hosted by SFVS's #1 hiker Elliot Ryan!

We will meet at Union Square (Powell and Geary) and march to City Hall to listen to no more than three short, inspirational, and animal-rights-focused Earth Day speeches.

After the speeches, for those interested we will go to Rad Radish to buy ourselves lunch and then make our way to Patricia’s Green In Hayes Valley Park to eat together. Please feel free to bring your own bag lunch if you prefer.

From Union Square to City Hall is about 1 mile. From City Hall to Patricia's Green is about 0.5 miles. The route is mostly flat. It is recommended to wear comfortable shoes and a hat, apply sunscreen, and bring water.

Children and well-behaved pets are welcome.

Inspirational signs will be provided or feel free to bring your own. Looking forward to marching with you!
