What we’re about

Aloha! We are a public non-profit recreational outrigger canoe club supported by our members. We have been in continuous operation since 2006. Our purpose is to enable a wide range of people and groups to enjoy recreational ocean paddling sports, ocean conservation and education. While our primary focus is on traditional 6-seat Polynesian style canoes, we also maintain one- and two-seat canoes for member use and promote paddling sports of all kinds. We love being at the beach and on the water. Paddling sports provide non-impact aerobic workout, camaraderie, fun and tremendous enjoyment of the outdoors. To participate, all paddlers must be disciplined, determined and capable of swimming in the ocean. Swim tests and safety drills are conducted routinely. This is a water sport after all. Sooner or later you will get wet! In addition to paddling, maintaining our canoes and hanging out after paddling, we participate in ocean conservation, public service and educational projects such as Best Day at the Beach, Caregiver’s Sailathon, and Beach Cleanup. Our ongoing success is a reflection of the commitment and participation of our membership.
We meet at the Ventura Harbor Beach around 8:00 AM to prepare the canoes for launch, then depart around 8:30.
