About us

This group swims in the ocean. Or rather we float in the ocean, It’s meditative and challenging. Also a good way to practice what you would do if you fell overboard off a boat. This is high adventure sometimes being pounded by waves. Wearing a life jacket is mandatory. Booties, hood, cap, nose plugs, fins, and triathlon swim buoys are recommended. A typical outing looks like this: Go out as far as you deem safe. Then float until the ocean pushes you back into the shoreline, between 5 and 25 minutes. When it gets shallow, practice your inner driftwood. This is mostly a solo activity. We use hand signals to communicate.

You will be required to sign a paper copy of a hold harmless agreement that absolves me and Meetup of anything that might happen to you like broken neck, paralysis, death, and shark attack.
