Venture For Nature

Venture for Nature is an organization dedicated to raising environmental awareness while actively engaging participants in hands-on nature restoration. Our mission is built around four core pillars: Protect, Restore, Fund and Educate.

By directly involving our participants and clients in initiatives that restore native habitats, we contribute meaningfully to the protection and recovery of the natural world. The funding generated through our tours and restoration activities is reinvested into the project, ensuring Venture for Nature’s long-term growth and allowing us to reach more people, deepen environmental awareness, and restore an ever-greater area of ecologically degraded ecosystems.

Education lies at the heart of everything we do. Through restoration activities, participants engage in direct, impactful action, learning by doing. On our guided tours, education about the natural world takes center stage—using storytelling, ecology, and lived experience to inspire people not only to protect and restore, but to also teach everyone we can how to fall in love with the natural world.

Ultimately, our goal is to reach as many people as possible and collaborate with companies, NGOs, schools, universities, community groups, and individuals who share a passion for nature and conservation. By bringing people together around a common purpose, we create opportunities not only to protect and restore the natural world, but also to inspire others to fall in love with nature and become advocates for its future.

About the guide:
I'm João, part of a team of five coordinators leading one of Portugal’s largest environmental volunteer programs within an environmental NGO. Over the years, I’ve worked with thousands of companies, NGOs, schools, universities and many other types of groups engaging more than 37 000 people in hands-on nature restoration initiatives while providing meaningful environmental education. I am also a nature guide through my latest project, Venture for Nature, where I use ecotourism as a gateway to connect people with the natural world and inspire them to restore it and protect it. My mission is to help others experience the beauty of the wilderness and to raise awareness about the urgent need to safeguard it.
