Work Party at Lehigh Crossing Park 7350 Víctor-Mendon Rd Vic

We will work along the pond shoreline, lopping off phragmites. We are finding more cattails and other native plants in the water.
Please wear sturdy, preferably waterproof boots, work gloves, wear insect repellent bring drinking water for yourself. Clippers or loppers may be helpful. I will have hand tools available for use. Park in the parking lot or drive up to the pond near my car where I make sure there is solid ground.
The photo is of dogwood shrub, vital for wildlife at Lehigh, shrouded with new growth of phragmites. This year it is easier to remove the invasive grass since the old stalks are no longer there and it is new growth without seeds yet. We will choose a small area to focus on for this week.
