Work Party at Lehigh Crossing Park 7350 Víctor-Mendon Rd Vic

We will work along the pond shoreline, lopping off phragmites. We are finding more cattails and other native plants in the water.
Please wear sturdy, preferably waterproof boots, work gloves, wear insect repellent bring drinking water for yourself. Clippers or loppers may be helpful. I will have hand tools available for use. Park in the parking lot or drive up to the pond near my car where I make sure there is solid ground.
The photo is of a section around the pond that we are revisiting and removing more phragmites. But this year they are smaller and easier to handle and all around them you see Willows and Goldenrod and Joe Pyeweed and other natives that are getting their chance in the sun formerly kept out of sight by 12 foot tall reeds known as phragmites.
