We will work along the pond shoreline, at the south end of the pond. A large stand of goldenrod should start blooming here in the coming days. It had been shrouded by the rampant growth of the phragmites but is now flourishing in a large population close to the pond. It is an outstanding plant for pollinators.
Please wear sturdy, preferably waterproof boots, work gloves, wear insect repellent bring drinking water for yourself. Clippers or loppers may be helpful. I will have hand tools available for use. Park in the parking lot or drive up to the pond near my car where I make sure there is solid ground.
The photo is of the south end of the pond where we will continue to open the view of the pond. This year we are seeing so many cattails that are considerably more attractive as well as beneficial to wildlife as they are now out of the shade of the invasive phragmites.
