Bayesian modelling and LLM endpoint magic

Details

Hi Data Enthusiasts,

We are super excited that, this time, the focus lies on projects from within our community. Join us @ CEU and to find out what Bayesian modelling has to do with structural voting bias at the Eurovision Song Context and how a LLM side project can transform into a startup idea! Expect more technical presentations when our two speakers guide you through their journeys of their personal projects.

Bayesian modelling of structural bias in Eurovision Song Contest voting
Max Beauchez, full stack developer at Schrankerl

This talk will demonstrate Bayesian statistical modeling using PyMC through a re-implementation of a 2014 paper analyzing structural bias in Eurovision Song Contest voting. The presentation will cover a brief primer to Bayesian modelling, model formulation, implementation in PyMC, and interpretation of results. Practical code examples will illustrate how to build and evaluate Bayesian models for complex data. The session is designed for data practitioners interested in probabilistic programming applications.

Max is a full stack developer at Schrankerl with previous experience as a data scientist at Level.works and Kendaxa. His technical expertise includes Python, Java, TypeScript/JavaScript, statistical modeling, and machine learning, with a focus on developing predictive algorithms and data pipelines. Max holds a Master's in Bio-Engineering Sciences from Ghent University and has conducted research internships across Europe, the US, and India. He is fluent in multiple languages including Dutch, English, French, Spanish, and working on his German after moving to Vienna last year.

From Side Project to Stack: Multi-Agent LLMs in a Rapidly Evolving Ecosystem
Gernot Greimler, CEO & Founder of Data Prospectors

In this talk, I share lessons from building a multi-agent system with LLMs – starting as a hobby project and evolving into a near-production-ready stack. It's a hands-on journey through today’s fast-moving LLM ecosystem: from low-code tools to agent frameworks, API orchestration, and the real-world trade-offs between speed, flexibility, and complexity.

Gernot is a Vienna-based IT professional with over 20 years of experience in the data and software space. While a coder at heart, he has spent the past 10 years in managerial roles, leading data-driven projects across the banking, telecom, and startup sectors. His work spans data architecture, project delivery, and technology strategy, with a strong focus on bridging the gap between technical implementation and business value. He is the founder of Data Prospectors, an independent consultancy for scalable, data-centric IT solutions.

! Note that admission is based on an RSVP list. Please make sure that you RSVP and that you have a human-like name set up on [Meetup.com](http://meetup.com/) :)

🎤🎤 Open Mic
We are going to open up the stage after the talks for community announcements. If you'd like to announce something, open this slide deck, make sure you are signed in with a google account, and click "View Only" -> "Request Edit Access". Explain in the text box what you want to announce, and we'll give you edit access to the slide deck.
